Love Made Visible

This caught my eye from the front page of Style.com… I just thought that it looked so elegant and simple. (Luria, I especially thought of you when I saw it!) Each EcoSphere is a self-regulating ecosystem enclosed in a glass sphere. Technology for these was developed by NASA and the ecosystems require no feeding (or cleaning!) other than exposure to natural sunlight. Each sphere contains seawater, red shrimp, and algae in addition to gravel, shells and gorgonia sprig. Would look especially beautiful in living rooms or offices.

Loved the color of these vases from West Elm… and the variety of shapes. Perfect way to tie a group of glass vessels together in a room is to have them in a similar hue. These are that perfect sort of blue. The vases come in a few more shades of blue as well as some yellows and greens. Gorgeous stuff from West Elm lately.

Never in my life have I felt such attraction to a pair of shoes. It’s really especially inexplicable because 1.) I feel like I cannot pull off patent leather and 2.) Straw platform soles make me feel like I should be in high school. Maybe it’s the color, perfectly nude… not too neutral with just the right hint of pink. Maybe it’s the fact that the soles aren’t too rustic. Whatever it is, it’s just gorgeous. As seen at BagSnob.

Adorable baby mobiles from Flensted at Modernseed. I absolutely adore those frolicking bunnies. Such simple and classic shapes for a nursery.

After two months of work, the Wooster Collective‘s 11 Spring Street project opens to the public today at 11am featuring artwork from the best street artists in the world including Shepard Fairey, Swoon, WK, and Lady Pink.

11 Spring Street, a former carriage house, has been over the years a revolving showcase of street artists from both New York and the world. The building was recently sold to make way for new condominiums and many thought the sale would mark the end of the progression of the ever-changing urban canvas. The new owners, development group Elias Cummings, wished to give proper tribute to the art and artists that graced the walls of the building and contacted the established Wooster Collective to help organize a proper farewell. The Collective in turn invited the best street artists in the world to come and mark the walls on the interior and exterior for one last time.

The preview photos from the Collective and Gothamist look amazing. Definitely will be checking this out this weekend. The building (at Elizabeth and Spring) is open to the public beginning today at 11am until Sunday at 5pm after which the new owners’ contracters will move in and begin renovations for the new condos.

My co-worker Cynthia introduced me to this fantastic illustrator, Paulina Reyes who has done some great work, most notably for Kate Spade. Adorable illustrations, fantastic use of color.
