I got a lovely email from the Gallery Hanahou about their upcoming exhibitions. I took a peek at their shop and was delighted to find work from my favorites Tina Berning, Stina Persson and Jeffrey Fulvimari. I especially loved the concept of Jeffrey’s paper plates… simple paper plates adorned by Jeffrey with his trademark girls. There’s something lovely about seeing doodles and illustrations done on paper plates and paper napkins. Lovely stuff.
20 plates, $150 each.
Loved these cards from Sub Studio featuring fish on wavy backgrounds. Each card is silkscreened and individually packaged.
Banded Rudderfish, Blackbelly Rosefish, Red Hake, and Conger Eel cards, $3.50 each or $15 for a set of five. Available at the Sub Studio Shop.
I got my 2007 calendar from Ilee in the mail yesterday and let me tell you… I knew it was going to be gorgeous but it seriously exceeded my expectations. The papers are amazing as is the printing and color. The handpainted bits are so well done. In all it’s a wonderful piece. It’s still listed at the Etsy store so get yours before they run out.
Pages from the 2007 Calendar, $17.

Judy of Five and a Half sent me a lovely email informing me about her great new photo journals available for sale in her store. The front and back covers of these journals are made from silver gelatin prints and feature the signature Five and a Half pockets on the inside flaps. I use my journal religiously, doodling and sketching… the variety of found papers actually make for some great inspiration. I got some great coloring book pages in my journal! These make great gifts for your writer/artist/dreamer friends. Also at Five and a Half are beautiful collaged greeting cards with all proceeds going to Children For Children. No two cards are alike! Lovely stuff, Judy!
Photo Journals, $22. Holiday Card Set, $12 for a set of three.
I loved the gorgeous Blue Mist Bowl created by Nancy Bauch of White Forest Pottery for Domino Magazine. (Great December/January issue, btw.) Nancy has created so many great pieces, much of it taking cues from nature. White Forest Pottery showcases lots of clean, organic forms with great glazes. Beautiful stuff.
Blue Mist Bowl, $45. Tiny Bowls, $48 for a set of four. Nut Cups, $48 for a set of four.
