Eva Zeisel’s Magic Language

I have been coveting these limited-edition art prints by my favorite ceramicist, Eva Zeisel (in collaboration with Klein/Reid) ever since I saw them online at Apartment Therapy… A few weekends ago I was delighted to be able to see them in person at the Cooper-Hewitt (across from the entrance of the gift shop) and fell in love with them all over again. After lots of pondering about the purchase I finally went ahead and bought one! (Magic Language #2!) So excited!

"Magic Language #1 and #2, 2005, silkscreen print, edition of 300. Shadowbox, archival frame, 32x24" each frame. Purchased as a pair with same editioned number. $1,100."

Elizabeth Hubbell Studio

Lovely & varied work from Elizabeth Hubbell Studio. Gorgeous calligraphy is letterpressed onto cards, sweet illustrations adorn baby announcements. Some really great formats here including a little baby announcement book about a little girl born in the year of the monkey. Too cute.

A birth announcement for Baby Rowan.

Dale Chihuly @ the New York Botanical Gardens

Dale Chihuly, one of the most innovative glass artists (in my humble opinion), will be exhibiting at the New York Botanical Gardens beginning June 25th until October 29th. His work evokes floral form so elegantly with gorgeous color and fantastic surface treatments on his glass sculptures… I can’t wait to see it in a garden setting. I’ve only seen his work once in person (a glass chandelier at the Mint Museum, Charlotte, North Carolina) and it was truly stunning. I am so looking forward to this.

Walla Wallas, 2004. Persian Chandelier, detail, 2005.

Peek Keep!

Just got a lovely email from Peek Keep. How adorable is the name?! So fun to say and so fun to look through this site which “celebrates organic form and functional design.” Such beautiful porcelain tabletop and adorable porcelain jewelry. The pieces above are from Casalinga in Copenhagen… creamy porcelain and fun painted patterns. Fun summer jewelry.

More Resto Love

I love glass objects. I don’t know why. I saw the above while lingering for the millionth time at Resto‘s site today. These Grand Scale Jars are so gorgeous. The shape is so elegant, much more refined than the shapes I’m used to seeing. Even the simpler Apothecary Jars are cleanly designed and proportionately perfect. If only I had a huge bathroom to put these in…

Apothecary Jars, $49-$89 separately or the set of three for $159. Grand Scale Glass Jars, $59-$69.

Outdoor Textiles @ Restoration Hardware

Restoration Hardware is one of my all-time favorite stores, mostly due to their undying dedication to timeless elegant style. Their textiles are consistently beautiful and I particularly love their selection for outdoor textiles. The outdoor pillows shown above come in five colors with coordinating beach towels. The towels at Resto are the softest things I’ve ever used. Lovely stuff all around.

Terrace Tile and Harbor Stripe Outdoor Pillows, $39. Beach Towels, $39. Both come in Cornflower, Grass, Sage, Topaz and Persimmon (shown).
