Calligraphy Inspiration

I’ve just been obsessing over this archive ever since 100 Layer Cake‘s post on Friday. IAMPETH is the International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting. Their official website showcases historic specimens of their members’ work as well as gorgeous scans of rare books. Can’t get enough.

Vintage Typewriter Ribbon Tins

Loved these ribbon tins that Janine Vangool collects. She has a full flickr set of her collection up… I loved all the typography! (via Poppytalk and T:Style)

Meli & Angi

When my friend Jina told me about Meli & Angi, I was absolutely floored. Jina was also kind to remind me that they baked the cookies from her wedding and I immediately remembered the deliciousness.

The precise lettering is so amazing. Check out the monogrammed cookies they can make for weddings! Total icing perfection.

Love, Jenna

Saw Jenna‘s calligraphy via Brooklyn Bride. Jenna has done work for Anthropologie and Real Simple. She’s based in Brooklyn. Loved the carefree swoopy curves.

Ork Posters

Loved these gorgeous typographic posters from Ork. Designed by Jenny Beorkrem, they are affordable, large and simple… they definitely make a statement. Cities currently available are Chicago and Brooklyn. The Manhattan poster is coming out soon as is one for Boston. (via AT: Chicago)

Brooklyn poster, 18" x 24", $25. Manhattan poster, 16" x 36", coming soon! Posters printed with soy ink on recycled paper.

Santa Maria Novella

Took a stroll through Soho a few weekends ago and wandered into Lafco New York and fell in love with the fragrances from Santa Maria Novella. My favorite was (of course) the pomegranate scent which dried down to a soft powdery finish. (And the packaging was to die for.)

Also notable at Lafco was their line of home fragrance in the form of blown glass encased candles designed to scent a specific part of the home. Gorgeous colors and scents, perfect hostess gifts.
