Ankasa

A mini-issue is now up at Nirali Magazine featuring a few home-related South Asian home designers. Among them, Ankasa was one of my favorites. Founded by husband and wife team, Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia, Ankasa features contemporary décor using the traditional weaving and embroidery techniques of India. Love the textures of these accessories.

Canvas Storage @ West Elm

Love the new canvas storage at West Elm. Looks like they’re taking up the lost business now-defunct Hold Everything used to secure. These storage boxes look a lot like the book board collection HE used to carry and it’s a good thing… those were fabulous. Great colors and crisp shiny hardware plus I’m loving the new Kenya print.

Magazine Butler, $19 each.

Wall Art Goodness

Everyone’s favorite Target has lots of great new stuff for home décor including the above stretched canvasses. I feel like these could be carried by Urban Outfitters for at least double the price. I do like the new styles Target is carrying currently, especially the Penthouse Collection which also works for guys. Could be really chic but not bachelor pad-y if used in conjunction with muted colors like dove gray and dusty blues and furniture with great silhouettes. I’m SO popping over there this weekend for Paul & Joe. Who else is going?

Pink Wall Art, $24.99. Chocolate Wall Art, $24.99.

Outdoor Textiles @ Restoration Hardware

Restoration Hardware is one of my all-time favorite stores, mostly due to their undying dedication to timeless elegant style. Their textiles are consistently beautiful and I particularly love their selection for outdoor textiles. The outdoor pillows shown above come in five colors with coordinating beach towels. The towels at Resto are the softest things I’ve ever used. Lovely stuff all around.

Terrace Tile and Harbor Stripe Outdoor Pillows, $39. Beach Towels, $39. Both come in Cornflower, Grass, Sage, Topaz and Persimmon (shown).

Hermés Beach Towels

More Hermés love… this time in the form of their printed beach towels. Spectacular color and level of detail. In time for some serious sunning in the Hamptons? Perhaps. Outrageously priced? You could say something like that. Beautiful? Absolutely. (via Something Stylish)

Printed beach towel, terrycloth, $450.

Sale @ Bath & Body Works

I did my share of mall shopping last weekend (a missed activity after shopping in Manhattan.) and ran into Bath & Body Works after spying that they were having one of their blowout sales. Got the above candles on sale for $5 and had to share. The White Barn New York line comes in so many delicious scents that are so strong for such little candles. Each candle comes in a frosted glass container with a metal lid that pops off á la the covers for the Henri Bendel candles. The labels peel off cleanly so they look fabulous in the home. I hate seeing those labels! The candles themselves are clean burning with lead-free wicks. Love.

White Barn New York Applemint, Passionfruit & Guava and Heirloom Apple candles, on sale for $5 each. (reg. $9.50)
