Doo.Ri Under.Ligne

I saw the lookbook from Doo.Ri’s Under.Ligne collection on Fashionista and loved the watercolor illustrations on top of dreamy photography. And the clothes are sweet too. (Love the white dress!)

Sorry the site’s been out of whack the past few days. Thank you to everyone who has been so kind as to alert me of the issue via emails and Twitter. (And extra shouts to Stefan who was kind enough to fix it for me.)
Now that that’s out of the way, please allow me to indulge in some navel gazing and blatant endorsing… I recently had the immense pleasure of working with Ben & Selina over at Studio on Fire to produce a pretty complicated invitation I designed for an upcoming wedding. Seriously, if anyone is looking for a printer, pleeaaaase drop them a line because they were so attentive, thorough and all around lovely people to work with.
Ben & Selina recently did a write up of the invitations they produced for me on their blog, Beast Pieces if you’d like to check it out and see more photos.
Edit 01.13.2015: You can see more images of this custom wedding suite at Niru & Baku where you can also find information on commissioning your own custom suite.

Can’t get enough of Lakshmi. This editorial is from Vogue India May 2009 and was shot by Jean François Campos. This is really making me want summer to start now.

I got an interesting email from Becky regarding a collection of perfume factices she just unearthed from her grandparents’ house. Perfume factices are larger versions of regular perfume bottles that are primarily used for perfume counter display. I never realized how beautiful these can be! (And every time I see Laura Ashley I think of Mary Anne from the Baby-sitter’s Club books!)
Becky is selling her collection. Please visit her site to get more information. Thanks Becky for sharing these!

Saw Bil Donovan‘s work as part of the fashion illustration exhibition at the Society of Illustrators. Just simply amazing.

Jordan posted today about her friend Cardon Webb whose exhibition, Cardon Copy, is at the Type Directors Club right now in NYC. I loved the typography so much… I also noticed that some of the posters seem to be from my neighborhood in Queens!
From his mission statement: “Cardon Copy, takes the vernacular of self-distributed fliers and tear-offs we have all seen in our neighborhoods. It involves hijacking these unconsidered fliers and redesigning them, over powering their message with a new visual language. I then replace the original with the redesign in its authentic environment.”
