Doo.Ri Pre-Fall 2009

Loved the prints and ruffles at Doo.Ri.

Yeojin Bae Spring/Summer 2009

Spied Australian designer Yeojin Bae‘s work on Refinery29 as one eight designers to watch for 2009 and loved her work. She’s is pretty well-known in her home country, having done a capsule collection for Target Australia a few years ago, photos of which look pretty sweet. (Thanks, Nitrolicious!) Unfortunately, finding eBay auctions of this collection is proving fruitless. At least she’s on the radar now… can’t wait to see more from her.

Nervous System Algae

I caught Nervous System‘s new Algae collection online and thought it was so gorgeous. From Nervous System: “Our new line … explores a range of botanical patterns by systematically abstracting the cycles of growth and bifurcation seen in plants.” All the pieces in the collection are made in stainless steel and twenty-four karat gold plated steel.

Large algal bloom pendant in stainless steel, $45. In 24 karat gold plated steel, $55.

Christopher Griffith

I loved these photos by Christopher Griffith for his new book, Blown. The images are of discarded tires collected along the major highways of America. The book is published in an edition of 2000 and is signed by the artist. Buy it for $75 through Dashwood Books in NYC. (via The Moment)

Lab Partners

Love the retro illustrations from Lab Partners in San Francisco. The limited-edition prints above are from their exhibition at the Outré Gallery called “Hunt and Gather.”

Check out their fab Etsy shop as well! (Gotta love letterpressed posters of San Francisco!)

Hunt and Gather Gocco 5 (phone), framed $85, unframed $55. Hunt and Gather Gocco 2 (perfume), framed $45, unframed $20. Both prints are signed and numbered limited edition multi-colour gocco prints with metallic ink in editions of 30.

Slumdog Millionaire

I saw Slumdog Millionaire last weekend and left it feeling buzzed. Danny Boyle has created a wonder of a film.

See the trailer here.
