Love Made Visible

Behnaz Sarafpour’s Fall 2006 Collection was chock full of great silhouettes and fabulous dresses. Especially love the gray one with the attached scarf.

I bought last night’s Tiny Showcase print and totally fell in love with this illustrator’s work. Johnny Yanok is super talented and his style is totally uber-playful with great colors and textures. So excited to get this print!

What really caught my eye at the Tuleh show was the luggage. And how beautiful! Also love those coats… the patterns are amazing as are the styles. Love that white one.

Fantastic coats and dresses, very sculptural shapes and some really great colors show up at Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2006 collection. Sleek, elegant and ladylike.

As every Fashion Week, I eagerly anticipate Carolina Herrera’s collection and true to form she never disappoints. This year she gives us style with a 1950s edge: beautiful cocktail dresses, long fur coats and chiffon dresses. Beautiful.

Idlewild takes place at a speakeasy in the South in the thirties and stars the men of Outkast: André Benjamin and Big Boi (aka Antwan A. Patton). The story is of the relationship between a piano player (Benjamin) and the club’s showy manager, played by Patton. The movie also stars Ving Rhames, Terrence Howard, Paula Patton, Patti LaBelle, Cicely Tyson and Macy Gray among others. Outkast also did the music for the movie which, judging by the trailer, sounds amazing. Can’t wait.
