Arni Rata Done Proud

Marimekko’s Spring 2006 line is so so amazing. Marimekko in general may be my favorite textile design house. Everything always feels fresh and the large-scale prints are absolutely gorgeous. (And perfect for stretching and hanging.)

Latvassa Print, Marimekko Spring 2006 Line. $38/yard

Very Ornamental

I do love the items at Port2Port Press (through Etsy!) and these Ornamental notecards are no exception. I appreciate the glossy ink and understated design. It’s exciting to me to see limited edition notcards… You never really think of notecards having editions because when you recieve them it’s always just one and feels pretty unique as it is. I think if I were to buy these, I’d never use them and want to just keep them all for myself.

Edition of 125 cards, bundled into 25 sets. Each, $20.

Bemz

Bemz is a third-party supplier of slipcovers for popular IKEA furniture. The slipcovers are made out of some great patterns and fabrics. Worth it if the selection IKEA offers isn’t doing it for you.

The Industrial Collection.

ReproDepot

As I was perusing Apartment Therapy for the bajillionth time today I spied Jenny & Clove’s house tour in which they used fabric from ReproDepot as a wallcovering. So hot and graphic. LOVE.

Blue dots.

Christine Van Der Hurd

Christine Van Der Hurd designs fantastic graphic and bold textiles and jewelry. What really stands out, however, are her rug designs. Love the fuschia.

From the Fabulously Floral Collection: Flower Power, Dazed and Confuzed Bright and Deliriously Daisy.

Love Marimekko

Ever since working for Scandinavian Review laying out a story abot Marimekko’s founders and design history, I’ve kinda have been mildly obsessed with Marimekko. There are a few Marimekko stores in New York (on of which is in the 70s on 3rd Avenue)… Crate & Barrel now sells Marimekko prints in placemats and towels.

My all-time favorite Marimekko print, Lummarja, $65/yard. The other is Paivantasaaja in green, $42/yard.

Priya is twenty-nine. She lives in New York City. She art directs advertising for a luxury jewelry brand. She loves fizzy lemonade, Ladurée macarons, Jean Schlumberger jewels, vintage fashion advertising, Audrey Hepburn movies and letterpressed paper. She also loves her work.
