Alena Hennessy’s Little Gathering

Got a sweet email from Alena Hennessy regarding her upcoming show this weekend in a tearoom boutique called Bouteaque, New York’s Lower East Side. Her work, called “A Little Gathering” looks absolutely amazing. I am planning on checking it out just to see it all in person. The show will be on display from May 5 to June 30, the reception is from 3-7pm on Saturday. Bouteaque is located at 226 East Third Street, between Avenue B and C.

Chris Ferebee

Love the collage work of Chris Ferebee so much. Checked it out after a long time, prompted by his email. Typographical elements + vintage photography + arresting composition = truly stunning pieces. The color quality is so gorgeous. Love this stuff. Some limited editions of his collages are available in his shop.

Cecilia Carlstedt

God, Cecilia Carlstedt‘s work is so gorgeous. Amazing texture and color. I love how imagery is subtly incorporated into the overall composition. Not to mention that the above isn’t even close to indicting the feel of her work. So many pieces in the portfolio, it’s inspiring to go through it all. A beautiful body of work.

Kirsten Ulve

I got a lovely packet from Gallery Hanahou announcing Kirsten Ulve‘s upcoming show in New York on February 23. Entitled, “Pictures You Will Like!” “world-renowned digital pop artist Kirten Ulve brings a cast of cute and creepy characters with brilliant limited edition prints!” Lovely stuff in her portfolio, I’ve been loving her work for a long while. I definitely hope to check this out.

UPDATE: Some of the prints (editions of 25) from the show are available for pre-order through the gallery for $250. Additional prints will be available on the 23rd of February at the show’s opening. (Anna, thanks for the update!)

Don't Talk Dark To Me. Coffin Nails.

David Downton

David Downton‘s fashion illustration and celebrity portraiture is truly stunning.. Lovely painterly style is gracefully loose yet is able to capture fine detail. Gorgeous stuff… wish his prints weren’t all sold out.
