Tracy Reese
The fabulous Tracy Reese opened a store in the Meatpacking District this week. Hudson near Horatio. That area is getting so many great boutiques.

I noticed that Rare Device in Brooklyn carries Serrote notebooks and is the only store in the U.S. that does so. Each book is letterpressed, cover and inside pages and produced in limited editions in Portugal. See a previous post about Serrote here.
I saw on Holly‘s blog, she posted about Snow & Graham’s new spring line available at Luxe Paperie. Totally beautiful work. The gift wrap alone makes me want to cover my notebooks with all the patterns. I can’t wait until Snow & Graham‘s site becomes live.
Picnic Birthday Greeting, $3. Picnic Merci Boxed Notes, box of 6 for $12. Baby Makes Three Greeting, $3. Pamplemousse Gift Wrap, $2.50. Blackberry Gift Wrap, $2.50. Barbershop Gift Wrap, $2.50.
Petra Borner‘s work arrived on my desk today. I absolutely fell in love with her botanical style, fantastic colors and exquisite attention to detail. Ms. Borner Graduated from Central St. Martins in 1999 and became a fashion designer at Seraph-Sherald Lamden (London) and Susan Cianciolo (NY). She also has her own accessory brand, Bo Bags. Petra’s client list includes, among others, Lulu Guinness, Elle, Penguin books, Habitat, Louis Vuitton and Cacharel.
Sketchbook entries. Three patterns.
Scott Ingram‘s work allows for fate to step in. He has begun using nail polish as a medium (range of colors and high gloss finish make it attractive.) and pours it directly on his surfaces. What results is due to gravity, room conditions, nail polish consistency and fate. I enjoy looking at his work for the sheer simplicity of it all.
From Mr. Ingram's exhibition Drip: New Drawings: Detail of a site-specific installation in the gallery. Two paintings.
I was quickly flipping through this week’s New York Magazine when an illustration stopped me in my tracks. One of my favorite collage artists, Tiphanie Brooke did a fantastic illustration for a theatre review. Made me happy. Yay Tiphanie! Click the above to see it in all its glory.
