The Small Stakes

The Small Stakes is a silkscreen design studio in Oakland, California with a gorgeous portfolio of work. Most of the work are promotional posters for bands. Great color relationships and typography here.

Three of my favorites from the gallery. All seem to be sold out. Keep an eye out for new additions.

Wedding Photojournalism Resource

Fantastic! The website of the Association of Wedding Photojournalists features portfolios of the nation’s wedding photojournalists who belong to this association. The portfolios in general are of very good quality and the website features contests that the photographers can submit to. Winners get special distinction on the site as well. Great place to start looking for a wedding photographer.

Find photographers working in the photojournalism style across the country by state.

Anna Kuperberg

Anna Kuperberg‘s photography is truly unlike anything I have ever seen. The moments she singles out are wonderfully composed and always seem to be lit beautifully. She is the best event photographer working in the photojournalism style I’ve come across. She does work at weddings, for engagements, childrens’ and newborn portraits plus pet portraits. Amazing.

Engagement photo.

Russell+Hazel

More fantastic office supplies. Russell+Hazel carries a great array of office and organizational supplies in great colors. I love the binders that come included with a huge rubber band to keep it shut and dry-erase coatings on the inside covers. The Chicklet post-it notes ($12 for 8 pads in 4 colors) are the perfect size to jot down reminders and leave co-workers quick notes and come in great colors with a crisp white border.
