Love Marimekko

Ever since working for Scandinavian Review laying out a story abot Marimekko’s founders and design history, I’ve kinda have been mildly obsessed with Marimekko. There are a few Marimekko stores in New York (on of which is in the 70s on 3rd Avenue)… Crate & Barrel now sells Marimekko prints in placemats and towels.

My all-time favorite Marimekko print, Lummarja, $65/yard. The other is Paivantasaaja in green, $42/yard.

Delicious!

!!!! These white powder coated steel sculptures from Wingard look DELICIOUS against that chocolate wall. Check out the wreath version. Definitely a great looking alternative to the norm for the holidays. There’s also lots of other types of wall art available on this site. Very striking.

Powder coated steel wall sculptures, large and small. $179 and $60.

Marc Jacobs Spring 2006

Mr. Jacobs never dissappoints. This season he impressed me with his beautiful floaty dresses and fantastic coats. View the collection here.

Monique Lhuillier Spring 2006

Monique Lhuillier’s dress confections that are absolute perfection. Particularly love the short flared white dress with black detailing. Such a very ladylike collection. View it all here.

From New York: three dresses from the Spring 2006 collection.

Carolina Herrera Spring 2006

My all-time favorite designer is Carolina Herrera for the mere fact that she creates clothes truly for a woman’s body. These clothes are absolutely gorgeous and of course, she can never dissappoint. Her pairings of chocolate and white feels very fresh and comes across as very striking yet isn’t as stark as the main-stay combination of black and white. View it all here.
