I’ve been increasingly becoming obsessed with the idea of learning how to style food. I love finding blogs like photographer Matt Armendariz’s Matt Bites that not only feature mouthwatering photography but back it up with recipes. (See the posts on Aguas Frescas, Chocotortas, Tuna Crudo with Fennel and Radishes and Fennel and Citrus Salad that was recently featured over on Design*Sponge.)

The food photography gets me every time and on Matt’s portfolio site, I’m in heaven.

I know Domino is dead and gone but former Domino editor and blogger Michelle Adams has just launched Lonny Magazine, an online-only home magazine.

The first issue’s been out for a few weeks and I’m slow on the uptake these days but it’s really an amazing thing she and her partner-in-crime Patrick Cline have managed to put together. I love that each story has tons of photos accompanying and really shows a range of tastes. (First issue includes the homes of Eddie Ross, Grace Bonney, Ron Marvin and former Domino EIC Deborah Needleman.) It’s bookmarked!

I loved the shoot with Natalie Portman in this week’s T:Style Magazine. (As my co-worker Thomas says, “It’s impossible to take a horrible picture of the girl.” And I concur.)

I also am loving the new website for the T:Style Magazine… it’s so much fun to go through the articles and see all the photography. (And also better work-wise as this gives advertisers an amazing platform for advertising!) The new blog is also great… I can’t wait to see more content. Okay guys. Seriously I have found my new favorite gift web site. Violet offers gifts for very specific types of people you know. And not just any gifts. Distinctive gifts, people. The website design is so easy to navigate, not to mention designed exquisitely. Gifts are photographed gorgeously and the selection is so amazing. I can’t stop looking through this. A Brentwood Estate

I am such a fan of dramatic spaces and Kelly is the Queen of dramatic spaces. I really loved her book and recently ran across her site via Abby and am so glad she pointed me in the right direction. Just opulent, dramatic spaces in the portfolio here… Amazing use of textures and color.

Yes, late in the game, I know. I’ve seen these cards advertised on Flickr for the longest but have never actually seen one in person. I was at a great gathering tonight and got a few of these calling cards from some great people I met and was very impressed by the quality of printing and paper stock. Nice hefty stock with a yum satin finish. These cards are done by a company called Moo and work seamlessly with your Flickr account. Order in batches of 100 and recieve cards with images from your own Flickr stream, cropped however you like to fit these skinny-mini calling cards. (You can order 100 cards each with a different image on them… or 100 cards with just one image. Sweet!) The other side can be personalized with up to six lines of text. See what others have done with their Moo cards. I already ordered a set. This could get addicting.

Via the lovely Oh Joy! comes the announcement that favored mens’ shopping blog Uncrate has released a femme counterpart, Outblush. Definitely shaping up to be a new daily read. Love!

Oh Martha, how you continue to please me.

Holly posted about Martha Stewart’s new magazine, Blueprint, which is aimed at 30-something women. Judging from the teaser site, it’s targeting the readership of Lucky, Domino and Real Simple. Gotta love that. And what’s more, you can sign up to recieve the free premiere issue of Blueprint. HOT!

Oh sweet, sweet raccoon. Run!

Orisinal is easily the best collection of online flash games to pass idle minutes away. (And so nice to look at!) So many more games have been added since I have been there last. Orisinal definitely got me through many an hour in college. My favorites are the games involving the frogs and this raccoon game. Bonus: Ferry’s Cafepress store!
