Rebecca Wetzler

Loved the work of Rebecca Wetzler. Wonderfully gestural, great sense of color and fantastic line work. In all, lovely.

Aquascutum Fall 2007

Little did I know that British brand Aquascutum is the first company to produce a waterproof cloth as well as the very first raincoat. London Fashion Week rolls about and I’ve paid only a little attention to shows this week but this show caught my eye. I particularly loved the very tailored look of these clothes. In all, a neutral collection with pops of persimmon and yellow. (Very much in line with the trends at the New York shows.) And that cute cropped trench-y raincoat is so sweet.

Bazaar Tealights @ Graham & Green

Thought these pierced ceramic tealight holders were so pretty… imagine a few scattered on a dark tabletop. (and for that price, it’s a reality!) Or the larger lanterns along a pathway at a garden wedding. Or a lantern as a chic table centerpiece. I love the quality of light that comes through white ceramic. Beautiful things in all at Graham & Green.

Bazaar Tea Light Holders, £18.90 for a set of 6. Large hurricane lamp, £16.95.

Neeta Madahar

Saw the photography of Neeta Madahar and just had to post. Loved the feeling of her Falling series… images of spinning maple seeds as they fall from her second story window. Such great movement and color in these photographs. (via House & Garden.)

Love Me Some Miffy

I have a small crush on Miff. Inspired the children’s book series by Dick Bruna, Miffy is one stylish rabbit. Everyday she posts a picture of herself (above) wearing a new designer outfit. Such adorable drawings. I love seeing her next to the model walking down the runway.

Miff models outfits from left: Zac Posen, Michael Kors, Temperley, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, and Chanel.

Jessica Kagan Cushman Bangles

Love these bangles made of fossilized mammoth tusk by jewelry designer Jessica Kagan Cushman. The tusk was recently uncovered and carved and is approximately 10,000 years old. Each one-of-a-kind bangle is inscribed with a phrase using the scrimshaw technique. (via Fashionista.)

Wide Scrimshaw Phrase Bangle, $1,250 at Barney's New York.

Banchet Flowers @ Vivre

Maybe I’m just the last to know but I had no idea Vivre carried flowers from floral designer Banchet. Such great arrangements… love those huge peonies. Banchet’s website shows a whole lot more including her amazing space in New York’s Flower District.

Banchet Sweet Dreams, with roses, peonies and Phalaenopsis orchids, $350.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hope you’re having a lovely Valentine’s Day… We’re totally buried in snow/sleet/hail/rain in New York. (Well, a few inches isn’t exactly buried but for a pedestrian city it’s pretty nightmarish. Says the girl who went to school in Buffalo. Yeah.)

Charming Gardener

Absolutely loved the work at Charming Gardener. Gorgeous typography and imagery. Loved all the letterpress work for occasions and identity. The attention to detail is exquisite.

Anthropologie: The Ongoing Love Affair

This seriously should become just an Anthropologie blog. Their catalogs are coming out now with increasing frequency that Anthropologie Love just grows and grows. Their latest catalog is focused on printed fabrics. Lots of the upholstery is done in Marimekko, a.k.a. the mother brand of surface design. Loved the above dress in particular. Fabulous catalog, fabulous styling as we expect from Anthro.

Carmen Marc Volvo Fall 2007

Loved this collection… mostly because I didn’t see many formal dresses this season that I liked. Definitely loved the dresses at Carmen Marc Volvo. Such pretty pleating and fabrics. The entire collection was a study in black and white with bits of metallic plum and metallic navy. Especially loved the portrait-collared coat that opened the show.

Tory Burch Fall 2007

Totally loved the Tory Burch clothes. Absolutely fabulous coats. The best bunch of coats, actually that I’ve seen this week. Love the gold monogram buttons.
